Just a few quick things...

1. Remember Me is actually a really good movie, despite its horrible, horrible ratings.  Yes, the ending was sad.  No, it wouldn't have been as memorable if it was any different.

2. We found out that we have to move in September.  Our landlords are either foreclosing or selling the house, as our rental agent said, "they are not holding onto it for another year" but wouldn't get into specifics.  So I was really upset yesterday since we had already decided that it was a better idea to stay in our house for another year.  It would've been less of a burden financially and it wouldn't have been as stressful.  I can't be of much help with the cleaning, the painting, or the moving because I'm pregnant...  So most of it falls back on James.  He, however, was the comforting one hugging me and reassuring me that everything is going to be okay, we'd find a bigger and nicer house for the same price, and he'd have his family and friends help out with all of the stuff that I can't do.  So, yes, I would've preferred to avoid this whole thing if possible, but it's out of our control, so I'm trying to look at the positive.  They have a lot of really nice houses in our price range (which probably won't be available in a couple of months when we're ready, but it gives me hope).  We're looking for a 3/2/2 preferably with a Florida room or at least a screened patio, and a big kitchen and nice bathrooms.  Oh, if our back and front yard weren't infested with spiders this time because of the woods in our backyard, that would be wonderful, too.  I have found that I've been avoiding entering and exiting the house through the front door lately at all costs, and literally leave to check the mail through the garage.

3. I thought my morning sickness had subsided, but I was WRONG.  At this point, my work day has just begun and I can't wait to go home and take a nap and then watch a movie with my boys.  Two more weeks until my second trimester and hopefully it'll be smooth sailing.  I'm ten weeks today and the baby is the size of a (non-shriveled) prune, measuring in at an inch and a half!

FLDSMDFR (pronounced FL-DS-MDFR)

My neglect towards you has flourished, Blogspot.  Life has been keeping me busy lately, perhaps taking over and not leaving enough time for you.  I've been living in a paradoxical universe where Blogger isn't always my number one priority, and so my reputation precedes me.  I've been known to update frequently, nag my friends who can't seem to keep up, and then do the same myself.  It's a vicious, never-ending cycle.

The main factors in my life are still family, school, and work.  I'm still maintaining balance between the three, and still able to find time for my new obsession (because I always have one), which lately has been revamping my wardrobe.  I'm an UrbanOutfitters.com regular and an eBay enthusiast.  I'm that person who bids on that item that you've been watching for 3 days, 6 hours, and 32 seconds in the last 30 second stretch.  I win.

Our debt is now only a quarter of what it used to be, and it feels so sweet!  Cutting up plastic cards has never been so fulfilling (and difficult, apparently I need a new pair of scissors).

The three of us have been up to the usual.  Right now I'm half-watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs with my boys while trying to successfully complete a post for the first time in nearly a month.  Let's hope you're not saved as a draft.  Anyways, we've been spending a lot of time at home together or with family lately.  I've also been spending a lot of time doing school work.  The amount of school work that I have has at least doubled since last semester.  I am still maintaining my 4.0 though, at least until Summer when I have to take Algebra, yuck.  I've taught Gavyn a new dance that he regularly practices in public.  It's called the "I Did It Dance."  He bends his elbows so that his arms form an "L" and moves them up and down, one at a time while singing, "I did it, I did it!"  He did the dance on the way back from the bathroom to the dinner table tonight with Grandpa by his side.

This update has brought me to the conclusion that I have not been taking nearly enough photos or videos lately.  I'll have to work on that.  I would've loved to have been able to post a little preview of the "I Did It Dance," but I hope you'll accept an I.O.U.  For now, I'm going to work on devoting my full attention to this movie and cuddling up to my little family while Emma continuously headbutts me from above the couch.

EDIT:  I forgot to mention that as of February 1, 2010, Gavyn is *OFFICIALLY* potty-trained!  The only time he wears a diaper or pull-up is at night.  Even when we go out, he is wearing big boy underwear!  My little baby is growing up so fast...

Man Candy.

I've never both loved and hated something so much at the same time as when I hear Gavyn say "I want dat, I need dat." As the phrase implies, he says that whenever he wants something. But not only does he want it, he also needs it. It's very imperative, at that point, that we give it to him.

Also, I just watched He's Just Not That Into You and I cried like a baby. I even tried really hard to keep it all in because I knew James would make fun of me for crying about a chick flick, but I just couldn't help it. It's definitely a top 5 of 2009 for me, along with The Hangover. This Bradley Cooper guy (top right) is really starting to grow on me! But my favorite couples in the movie, obviously, were Ginnifer Goodwin & Justin Long and Jennifer Aniston & Ben Affleck. Could there have been any more awesome actors piled into one movie? Oh, I don't know how I expected anything less. That movie had me from "He messaged me on MySpace" on the preview.

Upcoming movies (chick flicks) I'm really excited for: The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler (left) and Katherine Heigl. I really don't know what it is about Gerard Butler, but he really gets my gears going. It could be his sexy Irish accent in Ps, I Love You. Yeah, that's probably it, along with his equally sexy body in 300. Juss sayin'. Annndd The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds (bottom right) and Sandra Bullock. Have you seen Ryan in The Amityville Horror without his shirt on? ENOUGH SAID. Fact: Ryan Reynolds has recently achieved a body fat percentage of THREE PERCENT.

MirrorMask

I watched MirrorMask last night with James. I always browse Netflix for movies that catch my attention, and this happened to be one of them. It was released in 2005 and until I stumbled upon it on Netflix, I had never heard of it. So I'm assuming it was a more independent film. Here's Netflix's description:

Screenwriter Neil Gaiman's masterful allegorical drama, which melds live actors with animated characters, portrays the existence of a 15-year-old girl named Helena (Stephanie Leonidas) in a civilization ruled by light and darkness. When the Light Queen loses her equal hold on the kingdom, plunging it into gloomy shadows, Helena takes it upon herself to restore the universe back to its rightful balance. Dave McKean directs.

It was, by far, one of the most trippy and 'out there' movies I've ever seen. But once the story picked up I couldn't peel my eyes off the screen. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially if you're into fantasy movies.

Neil Gaiman is also the writer of Coraline (photo below), which explains a lot. I watched that movie in the theatre. It's a Tim Burton film that looks similar to The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, but it's definitely one of a kind. It was disturbing and intriguing at the same time. I don't know if I'd recommend it for kids (although it's rated PG), but I really did enjoy it, and I was looking forward to seeing it ever since I first saw the trailer. Every time the trailer would come on, James and Brandie would look over at me expecting me to say "Corrrraaallliiiiiiiiiiinnnee" in my creep voice. It was tradition. Anyway, if you take a look at the work that he's done (which also includes Beowulf - which I have yet to see, but I've read), it looks like he's known for doing movies like this. I've thoroughly enjoyed the movies of his that I've seen, so maybe I'll try the rest of them out.

Ps, in case you haven't already noticed-- I'm sort of a movie junkie. So you might not want to ever challenege me in a Scene It? game.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I just got back from watching X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It was intense, I was clenching my jaw the entire time. I've noticed I do this when I'm watching intense action scenes in movies. When I realize that I'm doing it, I have to put conscious effort into releasing my jaw muscles. I was asking James questions throughout the entire movie, which I know must've been pretty annoying, but I was thoroughly intrigued and wanted to know more about the back story. Apparently I'll need to watch 1, 2 and 3 again. It's been awhile.

Ah, yes. And the theatre was packed because we went today, the day that it was released, a Friday. Which means there were tons of children roaming free. When a little boy, Shawn, plopped down on the seat next to me along with his younger brother, Seth, and older brother, Steven... I gave them a few Starbursts and got to know their back story while we waited for the movie to start. Anyway, I came to find out that Shawn is 10, Seth is 9, they are one grade apart, they really like Starbursts, and they really like to express their excitement during the fight scenes. Oh, also, Shawn pointed out to me numerous times that it's metal (it's actually adamantium, but who am I to argue) coming out of Wolverine's arms, "LIKE THIS!!!!" as he motioned to me exactly where the claws came from on his arm.

So, yes. I do occasionally talk to little strangers and feed them Starbursts.
