A Battle of Epic Proportions.

If you've been keeping up with my Tumblr or Instagram, you know by now that we had a colored bubble war of sorts that ended, well, as you would guess that a colored bubble war would end...  Messy.  The paint splatters on their face and the table were nothing.  They both decided they wanted to become superheroes, so they took the bubbles and covered their hands, forearms, and a large portion of their face.  Uncle Tyler turned into Hulk (green bubbles) and Gavyn was obviously Spiderman (blue bubbles - we didn't buy red, but Gavyn cleverly pointed out that Spiderman is both red and blue).  Afterwards, James hosed them down and they took a nice bath together.  Now they're playing a little Marvel vs Capcom 3 before heading to bed.  I think Mama is going to work on my crocheting and then down some coffee and play Portal 2 with James (until I get frustrated enough to want to throw the controller at the TV screaming that there's no possible way to solve the puzzle just before James figures it out - it's sure to happen).  I'm gonna (try to) stay up past 10 (keep your fingers crossed for me) tonight, so risky (get it, because I'm old)!  Because JAMES is off tomorrow on MY day off and I am EXCITED!  This will be our second day off together since he started working for DirecTV, but apparently his supervisor is going to try to make it a weekly occurrence.  YES!

And just in case you were wondering what Livi was doing while all of this has been going on, it looked a little something like this:

DirecTV, that's funny. Brian works as an independent contractor for DirecTV.

By the way, I came across a callback at work in the Weeki Wachee area of Florida by the name of Ponticello. GT: Ep1cJames(sp?)

Small, small world.

Yeah, he's actually been training on and off for the past two months, it took him awhile to get started and I didn't want to jynx it by writing about it. But he's a satellite installer for JRB. The start up costs were a lot with all of the required tools and having to purchase an SUV, but it seems to be worth it. Beats unemployment for sure. Yep, that's his name. Gavyn decided to buy Transformers for like $30 on xbox even though we own the game and have the disc. They didn't give me a refund either, lol -_-

It does take a while. Brian had to get the certifications and what-not. And don't even get me started on the money factor. New F150, BirdDog tuner, toolbox full of odd-ball tools, drills, the MUST HAVE $200 ladder (I don't get it, either), blahblahblah... BUT, I don't know if James is doing it independently or in-house, but the fact that some weeks you can walk away with $1,000+ easily definitely makes it worth it. Independently it's all in your pocket. A keeper job.

I left my office to fill my coffee cup and when I came back the callback was gone. You have no idea how many calls I make that are exactly that, lol. Lots of hard messages and unhappy campers.

Yep, he's an independent contractor, too! I remember reading that you said he was getting a new job with better hours but I don't think you said what it was, that's funny, lol. We were able to get some of the stuff off of Craigslist to save a couple bucks, but yeah, it definitely added up. What is a callback to you? Is it when someone asks to speak to a supervisor?

What I do is take the issues that require a supervisor call the customer back, then make those calls. Sometimes the customer can be transferred over DURING the call, but for the most part Xbox started a new team so that we can get all supervisor calls turn over as a callback ("Let me send this over to my supervisor, she'll call you within the next 48 hours.") It helps the average handling times on T1 go down.

I didn't see what issue it was for you, but the notes were from mid-April and it was a hardware call. Usually those have to do with repair issues or warranty disputes. It may have been different, because the game purchase would've been billing. Or a system error, which there are plenty of.

And we Ebay'd it up for the tuner. Those things can get pricey!

Ohh, that's probably for when we had to send the xbox back because it would freeze when we used certain Kinect games. We've had to send that damn thing back so many times, so we've renewed the warranty every year.

That's the way to go.
