A Trip to the Toilet and The Postal Service...

So! Olivia is pretty much potty trained, and when I say pretty much I mean she's in undies all day long usually with no accidents but we still put a diaper or pull-up on her during nap time and bedtime. I'm soooo excited to not have to buy diapers anymore, and all though newborn diapers are just the cutesy wootsiest things ever, I'll just have to admire them on Livi's baby dolls and my future nieces/nephews because after having our little firecracker of a daughter we decided that two is just enough for us. ;P

In other news, WE SAW THE POSTAL SERVICE LIVE LAST NIGHT!!! Never in a million years did I think I'd have the chance to see them live after all this time, but I'm so glad we were able to! I saw one of my first loves (Ben Gibbard) performing live for the second time along with the wonderful Jenny Lewis. For being pretty mellow music, they put on an amazing and energetic show. I can definitely cross this off of my bucket list now, and I hope to see Mr. Gibbard with DCFC again the next time they come to town: :)

Oh, The Places You'll Go!

I can't believe that he only has seven more school days until summer break.  I vividly remember the night before his first day of school.  I nervously packed all of his school supplies into his backpack, neatly laid out his outfit for his first day of school, and set my alarm to wake up early to make sure I could spend extra time with him in the morning.  We woke up, had breakfast and got dressed early, and took tons of pictures and videos that morning, talked about how we thought his first day would be, and about how many friends he would make at school (I'm pretty sure he said fifty-five).  I can't believe next year I will be a Mommy to a first grader.  I'm so proud of my little dude. Although being a Mom can be trying at times, I feel lucky to say that they are mine and I am theirs.

Sunny Daze

This is where I aim to be next weekend.  It will be our first beach trip of the year, and only our second trip to the beach with Olivia thus far.  How sad is that?  We live in Florida and rarely go to the beach.  Well, we are gonna go all out next weekend and get an umbrella, bring a cooler, and make a day out of it with the kids, and Tyler and Maria.  I'm really excited because my new bathing suit should be here by then.  I was going to touch up my hair next week since we are going to see The Postal Service on June 5th, but my mom is going to do my hair the day of the concert so that I can go swimming at the beach and bask in the sun and not have to worry about my hair fading since it won't be freshly dyed.  So excited!  I got a lovely jade green one piece with a bandeau top and just ordered myself a cute little swimsuit cover up dress. Hopefully we will get plenty of beachy days this summer.  I just wanna be a beach bum and not get a tan or have my hair fade.  Is that so much to ask?  Meh.  Anyway, I know my posts are usually random and scatterbrained, but at least I warned you of that in my About Me section.  You get what you pay for.  Which is nothing.  You get nothing. ;P

"Outdoorsy"

It's funny how sometimes the littlest things can change your whole life and routine.  Getting a puppy and buying a swingset have made us more "outdoorsy" people.  And by "outdoorsy" I mean on a scale of sitting on the couch, munching on snacks, watching re-runs of Game of Thrones to going for frequent walks with our puppy and playing outside with the kids daily, we are somewhere in between.  Either way, there's more sunshine in our lives which is never a bad thing, regular intervals of moderate exercise, and more playtime outside with the kids. I've come to like it, and although I may rue the day that I said this when summer hits and we are experiencing 100+ degree weather, I actually enjoy going for walks with Koda.  He started running like crazy in laps around the house, so we figured it was time for our long evening walk.  I snapped a couple of adorable pictures of the kids while we were outside, the bottom where they are hugging is my faaaaavvvvv.  On the way home, James decided it would be funny to point out each bush and turd that Koda likes to stop and smell on the reg, and sure enough...  He did.  Such a goofy dog.  And fiance.

I Just Like Hanging Out With You, All The Tiiiime...

My phone started singing Taylor Swift and a local phone number that I didn't recognize popped up.  I hesitated, but then answered it and from the opposite side of the phone I heard a tiny little voice...

Me: Hello?
Tiny Voice: Umm hi! *sounds like he was running around and out of breath*
Me: ...Hello?
Tiny Voice: Hi... *long pause* Um, is Gavyn dere?
Me: Yeah, hang on a second...

That, my friends, was the sound of Gavyn's very first phone call from a friend from school!! Haha, at first I thought I was being pranked.  It was so cute and very random, I think they asked each other about 20 times what the other one was doing, and then the boy (Slater) started pressing buttons on his toys for Gavyn to hear and exclaimed that he was eating, "Mickey Dees!" Gavyn asked him if they were friends and the boy replied, "Yes, of course." And in the same spirit as the whole phone call, it ended as randomly as it started, with an, "Okay, bye!" and a concurrent "Bye!" from Gavyn.

And because Olivia was jealous that I took a silly picture of Gavyn...
