Bring Me Han Solo!

emmaedit1

I think that Emma is adorable, we have had her for a few months now. When we got her, she was so tiny we could hold her in the palm of our hands. We brought her to the vet and he said that her skeleton was very tiny so she should stay small for a long time. Well, I guess I can believe that's true, because this is what she looked like a few days ago when we had to bathe her because her poop was getting stuck in her long, prissy butt hairs. She also decided to rub her butt all over my beige carpet. It was a wonderful thing to wake up to.

Anyway, she looks so big now, mainly because of her glorious mane, earning her the nickname Jabba the Hutt from most of our friends and family (Note: the title).

Today has been a typical lazy Wednesday, I played a little Chrono Trigger (see yesterday's entry), read Gavyn's new favorite book with him (My Little Word Book by Roger Priddy - this was also Tyler's favorite book that I originally bought for Gavyn when I was pregnant, he could point and say every word by the time he was two), and ate some delicious italian beef sandwiches.

I found out yesterday that Brandie is going to be moving in with Michelle. I have mixed feelings about this. It doesn't bother me, because I knew she would be moving out soon anyway, and hopefully this will lower our bills, but I was also a little annoyed that she couldn't tell me directly after living here for so long.

James' Dad, Mike, is going to install Gavyn's ceiling fan on Sunday and redo our entire computer since it has been running less than satisfactory lately. All of this in exchange for some stale peeps. Yes, you read it correctly. James and his entire family enjoy stale peeps. This means that they cut open the package of peeps and let them sit for 2-3 days, and then devour the slightly crusty morsels. And they wouldn't have it any other way. They insist that they do not taste good when they are fresh, that they are too... Well, fresh.

Anyway, I'm going to try to find something productive to do until LOST comes on tonight. Ciao!

Beach Day!

DSC06897edit1

Today was the highly anticipated Beach Day! It's the first time I've been to the beach (I think) since before I was pregnant. Now that Gavyn is two, that should really tell you something. We've been talking about going for a long time, but never made plans. James hates the one that is close to us, so we go all out and go to Clearwater Beach or we don't hit the beach at all.

On our way to the beach, all we could talk about is how each place we passed had a memory from a time we've been down there. Good feeling.

I was very excited to wear my new bathing suit (from last year) for the first time. I got it (along with my tiger print one as seen on Tila Tequila) from Victoria's Secret. This one looks just like the one that Miranda wears on Sex and the City, the Movie. At least I think so. But fortunately, it did not have near the same price tag as Miranda's.

Gavyn absolutely loved the beach and we made a sand castle, had a sand fight, went swimming, and laid around like beach bums. It was really relaxing and the perfect day to go because the weather was beautiful. Like, really. Beautiful.

I love the picture of Gavyn above, I did a lot of editing to sharpen it and blur out the background because I brought my point and shoot rather than bringing my 40D and risking getting sand in/around the lens.

Anyway, after the beach we came home and hopped right in the shower. James ran out and got us some gyros and stuff from Philly's Best, and now we're all just relaxing because we're pooped from the beach. Well, most of us are. James is installing a ceiling fan in our room because it's been HOT and I haven't been running the air to conserve energy/keep our electric bill down.

Next stop is Gavyn's room. We got each fan for about $30 at WalMart and we already have the wires hooked up in our room, but we'll have to have Mike (James' Dad) set it up for Gavyn's room. That $30 will quickly pay itself off with not running the air.

Well, I'm gonna go see if I can help James out, and if not, I'll join Brandie and Gavyn in watching Wall-E.

Peachy Keen.

3/15/09

The new United States of Tara is INTENSE!

I worked today, and had to wear a skimpy little St. Patty's Day outfit which drew a lot of unnecessary attention to myself, my butt, and my stomach that I really didn't want/need.

Tomorrow is a BEACH DAY! It's supposed to rain on Wednesday, so we decided tomorrow would be perfect since it just so happened that James got off on a Monday (which never happens).

Today we just chilled out, ate some delicious chili, smoked the hookah, and watched Gavyn play outside. He loves playing outside with the playhouse we got him and his little Flinstone car (see the links in my previous entry). So I know he will LOVE the beach tomorrow. And I want to get a really delicious fruity drink like a virgin Strawberry Dacquiri. You know, since I don't turn 21 until July, -_-.

Anywho, I watched the United States of Tara while James was driving Michelle home with Brandie, so they are watching it now. I think I'll join them in watching in again, because it was just that good.

Oh, and peaches, in case you were wondering, are my favorite fruit. Strawberries would top the charts... If I weren't allergic to them.

Bath Time!

3/14/09

I had a long day at work today and came home to a 78 degree household. When we first moved in, in September, 78 degrees seemed so much cooler. But after having the beautiful 60's and low 70's, I am no longer satisfied with 78 degrees. And I'm not really looking forward to having to start using the AC soon. Damn you, Spring. Anyway, we came home from work and I went straight outside to play with Gavyn. You can see the other photos that I was contemplating posting here and here.

Afterwards, we ate delicious New York strip steaks, asparagus, and homemade mashed potatoes. So after the whole playing and eating thing, needless to say... Gavyn needed this.

I'm looking forward to taking pictures this week. Monday we might be going to the beach, and Tuesday is St. Patty's Day! Watch out, I am a force to be reckoned with.

And a merry Friday the 13th to you!

3/13/09

I got out of work a little early today, dropped off our rent check, and headed home. I took a shower and then we went grocery shopping and only went over our budget by six dollars. Say what you will, but for us that is an accomplishment.

When we got home we had some family over for $5 Little Caesars pizzas. Brooke (sister, in the photo above), Tommy (Brooke's boyfriend) Rachel (sister), Tyler (brother), and Brandie (lezbefren) came over.

After our Little Caesars, appletini, hookah, and rockband merriment, we ended up calling it a night early, since James and I have to leave for work at 5 in the morning tomorrow.

PS, Tommy is a lightweight.

I hope that you have an exceptionally lucky Friday the 13th.

Ivanna Suck Your Blood.

3/12/09

Okay, after looking at this for longer than about 2 seconds, I got creeped out myself. I was bored and feeling uninspired, so I figured I'd take a normal picture and transform it. This is Count Jamesula. Actually, it's not far off from what he looks like after a day of lounging on the couch with his eyes glued to the TV while playing Final Fantasy. ;) Anyway, my lens sucks so I can't take any macro pictures like I've been wanting to. Gavyn wasn't being cooperative. And it seemed as if James was only cracking a smile when I wasn't ready to take a shot. So this is the result. Eery, creepy result.

PS, who has seen '30 Days of Night?' Well, I'll be the first to tell you that I spotted out the main vampire from that movie in 'How To Lose Friends and Alienate People' - although he didn't look nearly as eery or creepy in that movie either.

Well, I'm going to go cuddle with Mr. Suckula now and possibly induldge in some more blue raspberry jell-o.

Original here.

Lazy Days.

3/11/09

Today was a lazy day, the four of us (me, James, Gavyn and Emma) stayed in and ate jell-o and rented movies on demand. We watched How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, The Descent, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. I thought it was funny that both Gavyn and Emma fell asleep in the same pose.

SPIT HAPPENS.

3/10/09

I wanted to start this off right by introducing you to the center of my universe, Gavyn.
